Brigadier General (BG) Heidi V. Brown served as the Deputy Commanding General DCG for Sustainment, Multi-National Corps Iraq (MNC-I) (from I Corps and Fort Lewis, Fort Lewis, Washington) during OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM, Iraq from April 2009 through March 2010.

During the Iraq war in 2003, then Colonel Brown commanded Fort Bliss' 31st Air Defense Artillery Brigade (ADA) and became the first woman to command a brigade in combat!
