Admiral Jeremy M. Boorda served as the 25th Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) from April 23, 1994 to May 16, 1996.

While serving as CNO, Admiral Boorda committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest over an apparent investigation over questionable devices on awards.
