Colonel George W. Waldroup served as the first Commander, Sector Control Point-Baghdad (SCP-B) from the spring of 2003 through the summer of 2004.

SCP-B's missions included not only the search for WMD, but work on counter-terrorism and the ongoing investigation into the fate of U.S. Navy Captain Michael Scott Speicher, who was shot down during the Gulf War of 1991.

COL Waldroup took over command of the Pentagon's then-secret unit, Strategic Support Branch, with broad authority over clandestine operations abroad.
