Lieutenant General Ricardo Sanchez served as the Commanding General, V Corps from June 14, 2003 to September 6, 2006.

On June 14, 2003, LTG Sanchez also became commander of Combined Joint Task Force 7, the coalition ground forces in the U.S.-led occupation of Iraq.
