In August 2008, Major General Riccardo Marchio (Italy) assumed the post of Deputy Commander and Italian Senior National Representative (SNR) of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps HQ and whilst at the ARRC, he deployed to Afghanistan as Deputy Commander (DCOM) ISAF Joint Command (IJC) and Senior National Representative in Afghanistan for 15 months.
