Major General Michael T. Flynn assumed duties as the Chief, CJ2, International Security Assistance Force, with the additional appointment as the CJ2, US Forces – Afghanistan on 15 June 2009 to October 2010.

Currently serving as the Director, Defense Intelligence Agency, on April 30, 2014, LTG Flynn announced his retirement effective Fall 2014.
