Major General Terry A. Wolff served as the Commanding General, 1st Armored Division (1st AD) from May 2009 through May 2011.

From December 2009 to December 2010 the 1st Armored Division headquarters (United States Division-Central (USD-C) spent a year in Iraq working the transition from a combat role, Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), and into an advise and assist role, Operation New Dawn (OND).
