General Joseph F. Dunford, Jr. served as the 36th Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC) from October 17, 2014 until September 24, 2015.

General Dunford was the shortest serving Commandant (11 months) and first Commandant to be promoted to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (second Marine overall).
